Everything you need to know about

Quilting

Supplies

Pieced fabric (squares/other shapes)

Quilting thread

Quilting needles

Batting - cotton or polyester

A thimble

A large embroidery hoop (for top

          stitching large projects)

When to Use

Quilting takes new or reused fabric and pieces it together to make a larger project. The act of quilting batting in between fabric can also make heat-resistant projects, like oven mitts or fabric trivets.

Tips and Tricks

You can quilt by hand, with a sewing machine, or a mix of both! And while you can find quilting patterns, you can also easily make your own; you can use graph paper or Excel to plan out the sizes of your quilt, but make sure you're adding in seam allowances for the amount of extra fabric you need to sew it all together.
